Phase IV of the PPL Business Energy Efficiency Program kicked off June 1, and we want to remind you of our program’s new incentive structure:
Lighting:
$185/kW and $0.02/kWh
Energy Efficient Equipment:
$200/kW and $0.02/kWh
Custom:
$250/kW and $0.02/kWh
CHP/Solar:
$1,000/kW
Direct Discount Program:
$185/kW and $0.10/kwh
(Incentive (kWh) + Incentive (kW) = Total Incentive)
Pre-approval is required on all projects. Incentives for the Direct Discount Program are capped at 80%; other incentives are capped at 50% of project cost, up to $500,000.
How kW savings are calculated
kW savings for our program are calculated based on Summer Coincident peak demand savings, which are June through August (excluding weekends and holidays) from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. To estimate your savings on prescriptive projects, use one of our calculators found on our
Calculators & Estimators webpage. For custom projects, the demand savings will be determined through our measurement and verification process, as was done in Phase III. If you have any questions, please send us an

New application portal
We have created a new application portal for Phase IV to be more user-friendly and help you easily track the progress of your project applications. If you submitted a project that closed on or after June 1, 2021, your application was transitioned to our new portal. If you have not received an email from the program team about your transitioned project application, please reach out to your contact or email us.

On-site verification
On-site verifications have resumed! You can expect to have a team member begin visiting customer sites for project verifications. As always, do your best to ensure the submitted information is accurate.
Direct Discount Program
Small businesses with a GS1 or GS3 rate code are eligible for $0.10 per kWh and $185 per kW annually on qualified refrigeration, compressed air and lighting retrofit projects–covering up to 80 percent of the project cost. Visit our Direct Discount Program webpage to learn more.
Contractor Training
Training is required to be an approved contractor in the Direct Discount Program for Phase IV, even if you’ve completed the training in the prior phase. Please contact Account Manager Madison Kubat to get started on submitting project applications. Approved Direct Discount Program contractors will have their business listed in our online Contractor Directory and a co-branded marketing flyer can be provided to help you educate customers.
Instant Discounts Program
Instant discounts for LED lighting are available at point of sale through participating distributors. Please note that the pre-approval threshold is now $3,000. Work with a qualified distributor or visit our website for details.
