Program changes are coming June 1!

To better serve our customers and maximize the life of Phase IV of the PPL Business Energy Efficiency Program, changes are coming on June 1, 2023:

• Eligible incentive amounts will revert to the previous phase incentive levels: Lighting & Efficient Equipment: $0.05/kWh, Custom Projects: $0.06/kWh, CHP/Solar: $0.03/kWh, Direct Discount Program: $0.10/kWh. All applications submitted, in good order, by May 31, 2023 at 11:59pm will be grandfathered in at the current incentive rates.
• Reminder: Customers with a residential rate code are no longer eligible to participate in the Non-Residential program offerings. This includes both the Downstream (Custom & Efficient Equipment) as well as the Instant Discounts programs. Any project that has received pre-approval prior to February 24, 2023, will receive incentives based on the final project savings.

Compressed Air project pre-approvals

Pre-approval continues to be recommended and encouraged to accurately calculate savings and incentives. However, effective July, 1, 2023, pre-approval may be waived on custom compressor and/or compressed air projects when project savings can still be accurately captured without pre-approval. Direct Discount Program

Qualified projects submitted through the Direct Discount Program will be eligible for a $0.10/kWh incentive as of June 1, 2023. Projects require pre-approval prior to beginning construction. To speed up pre-approvals, please submit the required documents: customer agreement, you and your customer’s W-9, pre-install photos, annotated spec sheets/DLC screenshots, completed Assessment Tool, utility bill, and initialed customer scope of work. Instant Discounts Program

In response to the EISA backstop requirements, effective Sunday, April 30, 2023, all A-line bulbs, candles, globes and reflectors will no longer be eligible in the Instant Discounts for Lighting Program. Any of these products sold after Sunday, April 30, 2023, will not be eligible for incentives. Uploads for incentive reimbursement of these products must be received no later than Wednesday, May 10, 2023. Submissions for these products received after Wednesday, May 10, 2023, will not be eligible for reimbursement.

Effective June 1, 2023, incentive changes for remaining eligible bulbs will take effect and we’re pleased to add exterior moguls and other products to our list. Measures and incentives for the Instant Discounts for Food Service Program will also change. As communicated in February, residential customers will not be eligible to participate in the PPL Instant Discounts Program offerings. Residential customers do NOT validate in PPC. All commercial accounts (i.e.: GS1 or GS3 or LP4 or LP5) are still eligible and will validate.

DLC® qualified products reminder

Applications for products that meet Design Lights Consortium (DLC) Solid State Lighting (SSL) version 4.4 requirements stopped being accepted on December 31, 2022. All projects using SSL v4.4 product will need to be installed and paid prior to May 31, 2023, to be eligible for incentives. Due to this deadline, SSL v4.4 products will no longer be eligible for pre-approval in 2023 to allow for installation and evaluation time.

In addition, starting June 1, 2023, all applications submitted must meet the requirements of DLC SSL v5.1 to be eligible for incentives. All prior applications pre-approved before June 1, 2023, using v5.0 will be allowed to receive incentives once construction is completed. Projects that have purchased v5.0 eligible equipment prior to June 1, 2023, will be considered eligible for incentives based on purchase date as the only exception. All equipment purchased on or after June 1, 2023, will be required to meet the requirements of DLC SSL v5.1.
